Join fellow WYA members and friends as we celebrate Memorial Day Weekend on the Chesapeake Bay, visiting WINDMILL POINT MARINA.

If you have not yet visited this small PET FRIENDLY marina located just outside the mouth of the Rappahannock River, you are in for a treat. With a combination of fixed and floating piers, all within a short walk to the pool and the aptly named "Tiki Bar" - you are sure to enjoy a great view of the water.

We will be arriving on Friday, May 24th and departing on Monday, the 27th but of course choose your own adventure based on what works for YOU.

From a planning perspective, know that we will look to have club BBQ/dinner event on SATURDAY, the 25th. around 6PM.  Bring/cook your own main dish and bring a side dish to share potluck style. Into the evening, the Tiki Bar will probably have some live band that you are likely to hear regardless if you want to or not.

Sunday will inevitably kick off with bloodies and mimosas (or whatever your juice of choice is).  Based on weather and interest, there may be some fishing and/or a trip into town (transportation TBD) for a winery. Always an option to stay put and chill beach/poolside.

Should you choose to join us (by boat), REGISTER here so we have an idea of number of members joining AND make your reservation DIRECTLY with the marina by either calling TONY ASHBURN at 804-436-1818, or use DOCKWA or SNAG-A-SLIP.  If you are close enough to drive, consider taking a ride down to visit for a few hours - WYA members are always willing to host a friend who may be boat-less for whatever reason.

Further communication and other details will be sent out (to those registered for event) as we get closer to the holiday weekend. Hope to see you there.

    Regards,

    Ken & Susie Novellino

    Event Captain Dan Farrell

    No registration fee.

Join fellow WYA members and friends as we travel the Albemarle Loop in North Carolina. We will begin our voyage from Tidewater, VA at Waterside Marina in Norfolk on Wednesday, September 19th.  From Norfolk we will travel South along the Elizabeth River and the Virginia Cut to Coinjock Marina in Coinjock, NC for a one-night stop.  From Coinjock we travel 12 nm to reach the Albemarle Sound.  From there we begin our adventure.  I have drafted a tentative plan of visiting marinas after contacting most of them.  Our itinerary is likely to evolve based on the number and size of boats interested.  As you know, many members of our club have larger boats and that presents a challenge at several of the 7 potential stops.  We will have to be flexible and may have to split up based on available slips for our boats.  For the 7 member marinas, we are allowed 48 hours of no cost for a slip.  We may have to pay for electricity and water.  Many of them have pump outs and fuel and most have restrooms and showers.  Remember, these are small towns and most of these marinas are town docks operated by the town government. So here is my tentative itinerary that is subject to change based on input as we go along:

Sep 19            Norfolk, VA                  Waterside Marina (not a Member Marina so regular slip fees)

Sep 20 Coinjock, NC                          Coinjock Marina (not a Member Marina so regular slip fees)

Sep 21-22 Hertford, NC                      Hertford Bay Marina

Sep 23-24 Plymouth, NC                    Plymouth Landing Marina

Sep 25-26 Edenton, NC                     Edenton Harbor Marina

Sep 27-28 Hertford, NC                      Albemarle Plantation Resort Marina

Sep 29-30 Manteo, NC                       Manteo Waterfront Marina (not a Member Marina so regular slip fees)

Oct 1 Coinjock, NC                             Coinjock, Marina (not a Member Marina so regular slip fees)

Oct 2 Portsmouth, VA                         Tidewater Yacht Marina (not a Member Marina so regular slip fees)
